Around the web and blogosphere, many people are talking about two important events this month. We thought we’d pass them along to you as well!

While May 1st may now be coming to a close, it’s not too late to spread the word about RSS (really simple syndication) or learn about it yourself. RSS, used to keep you up-to-date on your favorite websites enables to you to stay up to date in just one spot. We’d like to strongly encourage you to learn about RSS and if you find that it suits your needs, use it.

We’re realizing that more and more people who work from home are also bloggers so this one, we hope can apply to you on a personal level to take action!

May 15th, a popular blogging website, Blog Catalog is bringing together bloggers to unite for human rights. The goal? To get as many posts written on May 15th about human rights as possible. With a wide range of things to talk about with human rights, the floor is yours. The goal is to unite to make an impact. An impact is made in numbers so join the cause on your blog!

KMKP QUICK TIP

With so much to do and so little time, grocery shopping is probably the last thing you want to think about. For many of us, it’s a necessary evil. Here are just a few quick tips to get you in and out of that grocery store faster!

1. Make a meal plan: know ahead of time what time period you’ll be shopping for and what you’ll be cooking. Having a plan is the first step to gaining speed.

2. Check the sale: so that you’ll know what items you need to purchase that are currently on sale. This is important as you may be picking up a different brand, you’ll want to know this in your next step. Plus, you want to save money too so don’t forget to check the sale items!

3. Write a list: of items you’ll need form your meal plan. You want to ensure that you remember everything you need and you don’t pick up anything else you need! (Helpful for those of us who are attempting to stick to a diet before summer comes!)

4. Categorize your shopping list: so that you don’t have to back track in the grocery. While walking the length of the grocery store several times might be a good cardio workout, it’s not exactly what many of us want to do. Organize to get it the first time.

5. Shop at off peak hours: avoid rush hour and go when no one else is in the store. This will allow you to navigate faster, especially if you’re taking children with you.

6. Walk quickly: even though you’re not looking for a cardio exercise at the grocery store, by walking briskly you’ll avoid over-spending and will make it to the check out in record time – especially before lines start to form!
